It has been a long time coming (about 8 years), but at last the PLL package has been updated for TS19 and TS22 and released by N3V.

An updated website for this version is at ts19.potteriesloopline.co.uk (opens in a new tab or window), so please check that out if you are interested in that version and bookmark it. This website will no longer be updated.

15th Nov 2015

There have been some updates made to the Shelton Bar Operations session to resolves some issues which became apparent after release.

If you have already downloaded the session there is an update file with the main download on the sessions page. You will also require one further dependency from the DLS.

If you have not downloaded the session before today the main download link now includes the update as well.

31st Oct 2015

(Updated 31/10/2015 22:00 GMT - the.cdp file has been updated, please re-download the corrected version if you downloaded before this time)

Today we are pleased to make available a new session which further showcases the 'Shedmaster' rule.

This session utilises the Shedmaster rule to illustrate the range of railway activities necessary to keep Shelton Iron and Steel operating. It covers not only the tasks performed by the locomotives of the private railway, but also the complementary arrivals and departures of LMS trains to and from the exchange sidings at Etruria and Grange Junction, and Stoke MPD.

The bustle of train movements are not orchestrated by a timetable. Rather the demands of the works are collected by Shedmaster and railway resources are managed dynamically to meet those demands. If the industry start conditions are altered, then the nature of the session - what happens on the railways and when - will change in response.

If service requests cannot be met immediately due to no appropriate locomotive being available, then Shedmaster queues the requests until a loco becomes available. If there are no wagons of a type required to meet a request, then Shedmaster declines the request by the industry, which will try again after a delay.

The download for this session also includes an updated version of the Full Route as well as updates to some of the required dependencies.

The session (and updated route) can be found on the 'Sessions' download page, whilst there is comprehensive documentation in the 'Shedmaster' section of the 'Documentation' page.

30th Aug 2015

Whilst we continue to work on making PLL compatible with T:ANE we would like to make available some of the other things we have been working on.

Today this takes the form of a new session to run on both the 'Lite' and 'Full' versions of the route.

These sessions for the player driver are based on the Deep Pit Circle ride sessions that were released with the PLL launch last year. The impetus to develop the drive sessions was the opportunity to showcase some new assets created by Trevor Laughton to enhance the player driver experience.

SHUNT SEQUENCER rule and HUD

The 'Shunt Sequencer' rule manifests in-game as a heads-up display panel (HUD) and is intended for use by player-driven trains when shunting at various locations. For each shunt location, there are a number of movement controls shown in the HUD. A movement consists of junctions, signals and/or uncoupling points that are controlled in order to complete one shunting movement by the player-driven train. This allows the junction switch directions, signal states and uncoupling points for each movement to complete the session to be set by clicking a single item.

ROUTE SELECTOR track mark and SET WAYPOINT command

A route selector is an intelligent trackmark and marks a step in the journey taken by the train. The required path to the destination of the train is chosen at the beginning of the session by adding Set Waypoint commands to the driver schedule. As the train reaches each route selector, a decision is made how to set the path ahead, depending on the active waypoint and the information stored in the route selector. By varying the waypoints the train can be made to choose different paths through the rail network, provided that the route selectors have been set up to handle each case.

cdp files with the sessions and the new rules and required dependencies can be found on the 'Sessions' download page.

12th July 2015

With the retail release of Trainz:A New Era having taken place we have been able to evaluate what will be required to make PLL compatible with the new version.

There is a considerable amount of updates required and we are currently working through those and making some enhancements as we go.

Once we have some more news regarding this we will update this page.

7th May 2015

Today's update is some content updates, and a new livery for the coaches.

The updates are for the "Pinnox Brownhills Trip" sessions.

The updates have a small change in the driver Commands which overcomes a problem if the driver does not acknowledge a message popup at Pinnox Crossing and altered driver commands to accommodate the more effective braking that has resulted from reducing the weight of loaded coal wagons.

You can download them by going to the 'Updates' page link from the left menu, or click the image in the 'Latest Content' column on the right to go direct to the page.

The new coaches are weathered versions of the six included coaches represented in the later livery with simplified lining.

They can be downloaded from the 'Carriages' page.

If you cannot see the new content on the relevant page please try F5 to refresh the page.

6th Feb 2015

Today's update is some content updates, some additional signals, and a new livery for the coaches.

The updates are for the LMS and SIS hopper wagons. A misspecification of the queues led to possible overloading of iron ore to the wagons by a factor of 2.5. This update corrects that.

You can download it by going to the 'Updates' page link from the left menu, or click the image in the 'Latest Content' column on the right to go direct to the page.

The Additional signals are three new types of the 15ft home signals.

These can be downloaded from the 'Signals' page.

The new coaches are versions of the six included coaches represented in the later livery with simplified lining.

They can be downloaded from the 'Carriages' page.

30th Jan 2015

Today's update is a new session, some additional documentation, and some content updates.

The new session is entitled "A Loop Line Local Passes". In this automated session you take the role of a number of bystanders who observe the progress of a local service on the Loop Line. This session is for use with the 'Full route' version which is available from this website.

You can download it by going to the 'Sessions' page link from the left menu, or click the image in the 'Latest Content' column on the right to go direct to the page.

The Additional documentation is a couple of route maps. One shows the locations of the passenger stations and a second details the industry locations.

This can be downloaded from the 'Documentation' page.

The updates are for the following assets:

  • "Approach Target Track Mark" command.
  • Stoke MPD Coaling Tower.
  • "Special Instructions" command.
  • Staffordshire Brick and Tile Mix product.

The files, and more details of the fixes, are on the 'Updates' page.

7th Nov 2014

We have now released the Service Pack to address any issues found with the inital release of PLL.

The SP1 update includes a new 1938 28hp Simplex locomotive. There are also a further 190 assets which have been corrected or improved to resolve any issues

The update now makes PLL fully compatible with the Trainz Mac 2 version.

If you purchased PLL before today you will receive an e-mail with a link to download the update file. If you purchase PLL after today, the files you download will include all the SP1 updates and you will not require the additional download.

29th Sep 2014

A new page has been added with a list of all the KUID numbers of the assets which are included in the PLL pack or available to download from this website.

This is primarily so people can find out if one of our assets is their missing dependency they are searching for, however, we've also made it available to download in Excel format if you think it will be of use to you.

18th Sep

There was a bit of a mix up with the sessions for the full route version. The ones that were on here had missing dependencies.
